We would like you to be aware of the unique advantages of the dental care your children receive in our practice.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Our Pediatric Dentists delight in providing dental care for children. Following four years of college and four years of dental school, our doctors have spent an additional two years completing a residency in pediatric dentistry. This extensive specialty training encompasses growth and development, child psychology, treatment of traumatic injuries, sedation, care of the handicapped, and training in those specialized procedures unique to young children, teens, and adolescents.

Our orthodontist combines specialty training in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. This gives us a unique opportunity to monitor and guide your child's dental development.

ENVIRONMENT

Our patients and their families are provided with a warm, caring, cheerful environment. The physical arrangement of our of office is especially child oriented. It's a place in which mirrors, bright colors, learning toys, video games, books, television and electronic toys help make your child's visit an exciting experience. Our desire is to help your child build and maintain a positive attitude toward dental care.

PREVENTION

We emphasize preventing dental problems. Plastic sealants, which act as shields on permanent teeth, do an excellent job of sealing out decay. At each checkup, we determine the appropriateness of sealants for your child, and, if already placed, we check the integrity of each sealant and repair or replace it if needed. Routine flossing, brushing, and dietary instructing, as well as vitamin C testing, oral hygiene recording and saliva pH testing, are part of every visit. Tooth strengthening fluoride is utilized and regulated to the optimum level for your child.

ORTHODONTICS GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

The growth and development of the human dentition is a continuous and complex biologic process. Our collective specialty training places us in a unique position to diagnose, intercept and treat during childhood. Your child's individual problems are monitored at each checkup. When needed, an orthodontic consultation with the orthodontist may be recommended. Often early intervention can prevent more serious orthodontic problems from arising.

SPECIAL SERVICES ADDED

The office believes that you deserve the finest in quality care for your child. We are able to check your child's vitamin C level, his or her saliva pH level, as well as do a cancer screening and a preliminary speech evaluation. These services are done at no additional charge during your child's checkup. This is all part of our philosophy to offer you quality and service.

MEDICAMENTS AND PREVENTIVE SUPPLIES

For your convenience, we carry and dispense a wide range of medications and tooth products for your child.

INFANTS

Pre- and post-natal consultations are available for parents and children to 12 months of age. The prevention of dental disease, trauma, eruption patterns, as well as non-nutritive sucking and fluoride supplements are discussed.

COMBINATION APPOINTMENTS

Coordinated appointments with the orthodontist while your child is in braces are available. This saves you visits and enables us to remove wires and do a more thorough examination and cleaning.

SPECIAL ORTHODONTIC APPOINTMENTS

We are able to offer our patients a three-month cleaning program, while your child is in braces. This enables us to keep the gums and teeth healthier at a time when your child is more susceptible to problems.
